This isn't a to-do list
To-do lists are about tasks. This is about principles and growth. The goal isn’t completion — it’s becoming.
The problem with to-do lists
To-do lists are great for remembering to buy milk or send that email. But they fail when it comes to the things that actually matter:
- They focus on doing rather than becoming
- They measure completion, not growth
- They’re reactive — responding to what needs to get done
A different approach
Together Progress isn’t about checking off tasks. It’s about:
- Defining principles — what kind of person do you want to become?
- Tracking activities — what actions demonstrate growth toward those principles?
- Seeing progress — are you moving in the right direction over time?
Principles vs. tasks
A task is “call the dentist.” A principle is “take care of my health.”
Tasks get done and disappear. Principles guide your life. They’re the compass that helps you make decisions, prioritize time, and measure what matters.
The shift
When you stop thinking in tasks and start thinking in principles:
- You gain clarity about what actually matters
- You can see growth over months and years, not just today
- You feel progress in becoming who you want to be
That’s the difference. This isn’t a to-do list. It’s a map for growth.
